"Timing is everything, staff saved my dad's life!"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Blood vessel problems ( Vascular Ward 11a &11d)

(as a relative),

Ward 11a in the QEU Hospital Glasgow, the staff reacted so quickly to a massive haemorrhage bleed, especially nurse Katie, and student nurse Leah. What a team, who pulled together to get my dad to theatre within minutes, literally saving his life. I cannot thank them enough, they were so supportive to me and to him.  The team on ward 11a have been kind and so attentive to my dad. Thank you to the kind nurse who made me tea after I saw the whole thing, it was traumatic but they took time to look after me too, and explaining everything. I am so grateful.

Dear Melon77

I am sorry to hear what a traumatic and frightening event you must have experienced.

To hear how Katie and Leah's swift actions and timely decision making made such a difference during such a critical moment is wonderful to hear.

I am pleased to know that the team not only cared for your dad, but also took the time to support you during what must have been a very distressing time.

I will pass this feedback on directly to the staff of Ward 11A.

Wishing your dad a smooth onward recovery.

Best wishes

Debbie Macintyre
