"Listened to by my care team"

About: Forensic mental health / Forensic Intensive Recovery Support Team (FIRST)

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

I have a great care team and really good Care Coordinator, who supports me and listens to me. They have got to know me really well. When I have had to go back into hospital for my mental health, the care team still supported me and visited me. They also listened to me when I said I wanted to go back and live with my family. They support me to look at daytime activities in the community and provide support to keep me well. This includes working with my family and meeting with my family regularly.  I also have carers but I am hoping to have a support worker (PA) soon and the team are supporting this. This will mean I can do more things I like with support. I also like that whenever I contact the team, I get a prompt response and have weekly support.

Hi, first of all thanks for taking the time to give us feedback, what you've written has been shared with all the team and we're all grateful.

I (and the rest of the team) are really pleased to hear of your positive experience of support from the FIRST team, that you feel listened to and that you find the team responsive. It's also great to hear you're making good progress with your recovery journey after your spell in hospital. Once again thanks for your feedback and please let us know if there's anything you think could be done differently to support you,

best wishes,

Paul (FIRST team Quality Lead)

Thank you for providing this feedback on the care and treatment you are currently receiving from the MPFT FIRS Team. It is positive that you have developed a good working relationship with your Care Coordinator and feel well supported by the current care team. We recognise the value of providing continuation of care for people and to further support and inform individual care plans. We actively encourage co-production in creating support plans and recognise the therapeutic benefits to having meaningful daytime activity and providing a holistic approach to care. Likewise, we welcome involvement from family members and carers and recognise the value they provide to peoples ongoing care, support networks, and relationships. We thank you for your feedback.
