My friend has cancer and was administered to Shrewsbury hospital for chemotherapy.
He was told he would need to be in a sterile environment.
First they put him in a room with 3 other men who were incontinent. The smell alone was so horrendous he had to sit outside. Eventually he was moved to his own room and it was filthy. He ended up on his hands and knees cleaning it himself!
The staff tried to give him other patients medication. After making him confirm his name and date of birth, they then offered him pain meds that were liquid form and the ones he usually had were pill form. He questioned if it was his and they said yes. He then explained that he had never had liquid form before and they quickly rushed off and came back with the correct meds. This happened a further 2 times during his stay.
At 1 point he had to wear a catheter as he kept passing out when going to the loo. The catheter they gave him was leaking.
He has also had multiple infections where they had injected him.
I found Shrewsbury hospital to be dirty and disgusting. I fear that my friend will end up dying because of their lack of care and poor practices.
