"This has been a path way to a new start"

About: Dame Carol Detoxification Service

(as a service user),

I had issues with alcohol which lead me to a a local programme called reach used for issues with alcohol and drug abuse

Reach then contacted the Dame carol service and they promptly gave me a date to attend a in-house 10-day detox program 

I was very anxious and nervous but that was very soon put aside by the wonderful support from the staff

I was then seen to my room and monitored closely and given immediate support from both the nurse and doctor

The anxiety soon passed and I was able to integrate with other members of the detox programme and they soon made me feel at home

As the week went on and I used the group sessions, I became much more positive and relaxed and even began to engage with the group more

The group sessions are so well organised and provide valuable coping mechanisms for future rehab

I can honestly say that this has been a path way to a new start

I am glad you felt at ease when you met the staff here.

I am happy you managed to be able to socialise once you felt better and at home.

I am pleased that you were able to engage with your peers when doing groups and have learnt valuable coping mechanisms for the future and your sobriety.
