"My dad's treatment"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / General Surgery (wards 19, 20, 24, 26 &29)

(as a relative),

My dad is currently in a long term surgical ward in RAH in Paisley. The staff are too busy to provide a commode or bed pan, so they just put continence pads on the bed. Totally unacceptable to visit him and his bed is covered in faeces, and have to clean and change bed myself. Do something about it. I have contacted the papers about this.

Dear K135

Thank you for sharing your concerns about your father's care at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. I am very sorry to hear about his experience and for the distress this has caused your family.

Your concerns have been escalated to the senior team at the Royal Alexandra Hospital, and we are committed to addressing them as quickly as possible.

If you are willing, I would be grateful if you could contact my colleague, Sharlene Baillie, Lead Nurse, to discuss this further. You can reach her by email at sharlene.baillie@nhs.scot. Please include your father's details and your contact information in your message.

Thank you

Nicole
