"I was given excellent care and attention"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Accident & Emergency Crosshouse Hospital / Stroke Care Scottish Ambulance Service / Emergency Ambulance

(as a service user),

Recently I had the misfortune to require to visit A&E twice within a couple of days.

1st time I was taken by ambulance and second time was driven by friends. Paramedics were excellent, appropriate and attentive to me without being intrusive.

On both visits to A&E I was given excellent care and attention. All staff were very thorough, thoughtful and professional as well as compassionate. I was later transferred to Ward 3E where I received excellent care.

All the staff were friendly and caring and appeared to enjoy their work. Although extremely busy nothing was too much trouble. As I had to go for tests, porters were involved in my move, and again they were excellent and chatted, helping me to relax.

I have heard so many reports about food in hospitals being awful but this was not the case at Crosshouse.

An omelette was served one evening and was still tasty and light despite knowing to be kept warm on trip to ward.

If I ever have to go hospital again I certainly hope it's Crosshouse cos you guys were amazing. Thank you x

Dear songthrushqs79,

I see that your feedback relates to a number of services. I'm responding on behalf of the Scottish Ambulance Service.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience. We’re really sorry to hear you needed emergency care twice in such a short space of time, but so glad to hear that you felt well looked after throughout.

We’re especially grateful for your kind words about the paramedics who attended during your first visit. It’s lovely to hear they were attentive and supportive without being intrusive.

If you’re happy to share the date, time and address of the call out with us at sas.feedback@nhs.scot, along with your Care Opinion username, we’d love to match your story with the team and pass on your thanks directly.

Wishing you continued recovery and comfort and thank you again for your thoughtful message.

Warmest wishes,

Marie
