"I felt safe in their hands"

From the moment I arrived on the surgical ward floor 1 ward 1 at Grantham hospital I could not fault the care given. All the staff were cheerful and very reassuring. Mr Shepheard from the anaesthetic team came to talk me through my options and recommended an epidural explaining the benefits. When I went down for surgery they made sure I was comfortable at all times, even  apologising if I experienced pain. I felt safe in their hands.

Again, the theatre staff introduced themselves, explained what was going to happen and put me at ease. When the operation was finished my surgeon Mr Elawady explained what he'd done and found during the operation and what would happen going forward.

The lady in post op recovery again was very friendly and reassuring and soon sent me back to the ward.

 My nurse, Ailene came and made sure I was comfortable and not in  pain. Explained what would happen next and possible discharge time. Then she made sure I would get a hot drink and some food. Nothing was too much trouble for all the staff on the ward and were very friendly, caring and approachable. I couldn't fault the care they gave me . Thankyou.
