"The best care and treatment I have ever had"

About: Causeway Hospital / Medical Assessment Unit

(as the patient),

I would like to talk about the treatment and care I received during my seven day stay at medical assessment unit.

From the night I was moved there I was met with the a friendly reception,  the staff all made a point of introducing themselves and attending to everything to make me feel comfortable.

This ward itself was cleaned to the highest standard and maintained for the duration. 

As for the food, it can only be described as restaurant standard with great variety and more if requested. I observed staff taking time to ensure patients with eating issues received whatever they could digest.

The nursing staff were absolutely brilliant.  They went above and beyond in their care and treatment of patients,  taking time to ensure we knew exactly what care plan was in place and updating as it progressed. 

This is the best care and treatment I have ever had in hospital and other hospitals could learn from this. I hope I never have to stay in hospital again  but if I do I can only hope to get the same standard of treatment  and care

My name is Karen Sheridan, Assistant Clinical Services Manager for the Medical Assessment Unit (MAU) in Causeway Hospital. Thank you so much for taking the time to write such positive feedback from your stay in MAU and I hope you are feeling better. Being admitted to hospital can be a very worrying and stressful time and I'm glad the staff made you feel welcome and comfortable. The staff in MAU work hard to provide the highest standards of care and I'm really pleased that this was what you experienced. I will share your kind words with Sister Dodwell, the ward manager, and all the MAU staff. I know they will be delighted to hear it!
