Husband was sent to Hairmyres surgical Ambulatory unit by GP. When we got to the hospital was told to go to A&E. After sitting for hours I looked to see if I could get a drink of water there is a notice saying ask a member of staff. The staff were very busy. Went to main entrance but door was locked. There was also other people looking to find a way to get some fluids. Why is there no water machine in the waiting area? There was a small water jug, but it was empty.
In total we were there for 8 and a half hrs. I did manage to get some water and the staff were by great. Both doctors who saw my husband were so helpful and informative. As it is so important to keep hydrated I think this seriously needs to be looked at.
"Lack of water machine"
