"Staff are wonderful"

About: Vale of Leven General Hospital / Cardiac Rehabilitation

(as the patient),

The staff are wonderful.  Course in general was okay and the information was useful.  I could have done with the sessions being a bit more strenuous but realise that they had to be for everyone attending, and the music - could this in the future be all the same tempo as some of it didn't fit to the exercises.

My name is Rhona and I am one of the physiotherapists in the cardiac rehabilitation team at Vale of Leven General Hospital.

Thank you for sharing your story on Care Opinion.

It’s lovely to hear that you felt the staff were wonderful- what a lovely compliment-I will be sure to pass it on to all of the other team members.

Thank you for sharing your experience of the information provided and that you found it useful.

Thank you for your comments regarding the level of exertion in the classes- we always try to encourage those in the class to work at a level of 'moderate intensity' choosing higher options on the circuit cards if they feel the class needs to be made more challenging.

However, following your feedback I will work towards at adding a third exertion level to each circuit station to allow those attending to have more options to make their individual exercise regime a little more strenuous if they feel able.

Thank you for your constructive comments regarding the music tempo- sometimes the first song in the warm up and last song in the cool down are deliberately slightly slower to allow for a graduated, progressive warm up/cool down.

We do generally try to keep the music to the same number of beats per minute throughout the class, but given that you felt there were differing tempos of music and this impacted your enjoyment of the exercise class, I will review the current play list used for the class and remove any songs which appear to have a different 'beat per minute' tempo to the others.

We wish you well with your continued exercise journey…

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience and we will work as a service to implement the changes I have outlined above following your comments.

Kind regards

Rhona
