My attention in hospital.

(as the patient),

I attended Hospital for a Urology procedure which required a general anaesthetic.

The consultant doctor came to see me, as did the anaesthetist, who explained the procedure and relevant risks.

I was taken to Theatre, and I was met by other doctors who were very kind and caring.

The next thing I know I am waking up in the recovery ward.

(By coincidence someone I know was in hospital having a procedure done and was in the next bed!!).

My nurse immediately spoke to me, arranged water and lunch and took me up to my ward.

Ward 4b were very attentive from start to finish.

The staff nurses during day and night were excellent and did everything they could to meet my medical needs.

Both consultants came round each day to see me and ensure I was ok.

I can only confirm that the care and attention I experienced was perfect.

I’m especially proud of my team on Ward 4B for providing the level of care that made you feel safe, supported, and well looked after. Our nurses work tirelessly day and night to ensure each patient’s needs are met, and your recognition of their efforts means a great deal to all of us.

It’s moments like these—whether it’s a reassuring conversation, a well-timed glass of water, or even the surprise of seeing a familiar face nearby—that remind us how important compassionate care truly is.

I'll be sure to pass on your kind words to the consultants and theatre staff as well. On behalf of everyone involved in your care, thank you again for your thoughtful feedback. We wish you continued good health and recovery.
