"Exceptional service"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Orthotics

(as a carer),

My uncle for whom I have POA is in a care home. He needs new orthotic shoes from Greater Glasgow Health Board. They arranged a video call with my uncle which I was to join.

My uncle and care home forgot about the appointment, so a member of staff phoned me and asked if the appointment was still needed. She and I then had a discussion regarding the requirements and she was happy with that.

However, she then tried multiple times to get hold of my uncle and eventually managed to do so. I think that her persistence should be duly noted. It is great to see someone going over and beyond the normal boundaries to help a patient.

Thanks very much for taking the time to give us this positive feedback about the Orthotic service.

I'm very pleased to hear that a member of the team tried hard to ensure your uncle got what he needed and understood the importance of this to him.

I will pass this on to our virtual appointments Orthotics team and the wider team as its always great to hear when we are getting things right, it gives us all a real morale boost.

many thanks

Nikki Munro
