"Compassion and kindness at my C-section"

About: Maternity care (wards 68, 72 &73) / Labour suite Maternity care (wards 68, 72 &73) / Maternity care (Ward 72) Maternity care (wards 68, 72 &73) / Maternity care (Ward 73)

(as the patient),

I’d like to thank the staff at the Princess Royal Maternity Hospital in Glasgow in helping with the birth of my beautiful baby boy.

I was admitted to hospital to ward 72 for 2 nights before my c section and I’d like to thank all the midwives on ward 72 for their amazing help, patience and care.

I was then taken for my c section and all the theatre team including Paul who performed the surgery, Skye, Sophie and all of the team for the care, compassion and kindness they showed to myself, my husband and baby boy will never be forgotten. They made the experience for me so calming and comfortable and also the recovery team.

Lastly I’d like to thank all the midwives in ward 73 for helping once baby boy was here! Everyone was supportive and helped whenever was needed.

The care from this hospital and every midwife and doctor we met was truly incredible and we are eternally grateful to each and every member of staff we came across in getting our baby here safely. Again thank you so much.

Dear Mariesa94,

Congratulations on your newborn boy's birth. Given how busy you must be, I appreciate you taking the time to share your story on Care Opinion. That you found the midwives on ward 72 to be understanding and helpful is fantastic to hear. Hearing this will make them very happy. Additionally, I'll let Paul, Skye, and Sophie know how they helped with your birth. Finally, I'll let the midwives in Ward 73 know how you felt about the care and assistance you received.

Overall, thank you for this; the team will truly benefit from receiving such kind input.

Take Care,

Tracy Orr

Lead Midwife
