"Admitted to hospital by ambulance with fractured femur"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Orthopaedic Ward B23

(as the patient),

Fell heavily in the garden on to a downward sloping brick block path, mid afternoon on a Monday in August.  Felt anxious because I was home alone and realised quite quickly that my leg bone was broken.

A kind lady passing by offered help, called an ambulance then brought my mobile phone out of the house so I could call for some family help.

Both the ambulance and my older brother arrived within a very short time.  I felt relief.
