I attended the out of hours in Hamilton NHS Lanarkshire one night late August after a severe rash developed on my leg. My wife and I are both health professionals and we both thought I had cellulitis as I have had it before therefore susceptible. I attended the clinic and was met by a staff member. They were very dismissive almost argumentative with me from the start asking what was I to expect to achieve by coming here and then listed reasons why I couldn't possibly have cellulitis. They gave me antibiotics and a cream as my leg looked infected. My leg worsened the day after and I spent most of the day in bed feeling unwell. My wife urged me to go to the GP the next day who advised I did in fact have cellulitis. I am now on much stronger antibiotics and a strong steroid cream. I feel that I received poor care from Out-of-hours. My leg in particular is still painful, red and tight, I might possibly be feeling better if there had been more care and full assessment.
