"Exceptional tracheostomy care"

I was referred by RCHT to Rachel (Claire) because of her expertise in tracheostomy care and to look into the possibility of my having a different type of trachy tube.

I see her at North Devon District Hospital. Her care has been exceptional and I feel that nothing is left to chance. Any questions I may have had tend to already have been thought about and dealt with by her.

Claire also arranged for me to see another Claire (speech therapist) when I mentioned coughing while eating. Claire the speech therapist came to see me during that same appointment and did a swallow test. She also followed up the next time I saw Claire the trachy expert, and has written to Treliske.

I cannot thank them enough for their care and attention. Claire’s nursing assistant is also very helpful, knowledgeable and supportive. An excellent team.
