"Came out worse than they went in"

About: Queen Elizabeth University Hospital Glasgow / Elderly Medicine (Wards 51, 52, 54,55, 57, 8a & 2a)

(as a relative),

A relative was admitted to Langlands ward. They came out worse than they went in. Disgusting representation of the NHS. My relative was a patient on teaspoon only level 1 fluids and was dehydrated. They were taken off their drip, yet the nurses we encountered didn't ensure they were hydrated, so family needed to be in most of the day to ensure they were fed and watered. There was a sign clearly displayed that my relative needed to be assisted with food and drink, yet they were left to starve and be thirsty. There were nurses who ignored the teaspoon only sign even when I pointed it out, letting my relative drink out of the cup when there was a risk of aspiration. When we raised this, the staff denied it. We feel we have experienced complete negligence at this hospital.
