"Treatment of the vulnerable"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Older people's healthcare

(as a relative),

The treatment on this ward was shocking to say the least, elderly patients were treated with discontent, poor communication, no privacy, nurses were not on the ball, overall lack of respect for the elderly, patient requests were ignored and looked down upon. The lights were on constantly day and night so no respect for sleep quality.

The whole point of going into hospital is to be treated medically and given rest which is highly unlikely on this ward . Patients have different health needs and treatments but overall sleep should be one of the main factors of healing and this isn't happening on this ward.

And as for the meals that are served they are a disgrace. Why in this modern day are we serving our elderly relatives and friends this rubbish? The workers at the hospital want to remember they'll be treated in hospital at some point in their life.
