"We have had such a positive experience"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Physiotherapy Adult Health And Social Care Services / Dietetics and Nutrition Community Maternity Care / Coatbridge Community Maternity Maternity Care / Labour Ward Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) / SCBU (Special Care Baby Unit)

(as the patient),

I would like to just say a huge thank you to the entire team who assisted me throughout my pregnancy and birth!

Starting from my midwife, who was very helpful in the early days, especially when I found out I had reduced fluid levels.

She always responded to my calls and questions, and checked up on me throughout!

I also received help from dietician and physio, who helped me feel more comfortable and secure in how my body was changing and how to best manage it.

Next would be the team at Wishaw Hospital, who supported by with PPROM. I received such thorough care to make sure my baby was safe, and so was I. Every check up, scan and visit to the day assessment unit made me feel secure and cared for in a very scary time.

My baby arrived early at 28 +4 gestation, which started off at the triage unit in the early hours of the morning. Again, I never felt uncertain about the next steps or the decisions the doctors were making. I felt involved, and knew that I was in good hands. I felt the same way in post natal following my section.

We spent 10 weeks in Neonatal and SCBU, and again, we had daily support from the whole team! Who only ever made us feel like our baby was safe and taken care of. I could be at home and know he was perfectly safe, but what's more, that each person caring for him was 100% there for him. Moreover, they supported us as new parents in a strange environment, explaining each step to us, guiding us and providing feedback when I couldn't physically be there. They even took the time to make a fathers day gift bag for my partner, which is such a treasured memory for an otherwise daunting first father's day.

Now that we are home safe, and although still on oxygen and receiving support, we can look back and be so very grateful to each and every person who helped us along the way. To the staff who smiled at us and answered our questions day in and day out, who took the time to explain everything to us and answer our questions, who chatted to us about our mental health or who just chatted to us about the weather to keep our minds off it all.

We cannot thank you all enough, from the bottom of our hearts! Even those behind the scenes keeping the wheels turning.

There is so much more I could say, but overall I can say we have had such a positive experience which made everything so much easier on our family. You are all truly wonderful.

Hi, and thank you for your review.

Congratulations on the birth of your lovely baby and it sounds like you are settling well into family life at home.

It means so much for the team to hear from families that have been through the services.

From your antenatal care, birth, postnatal and neonatal care, it sounds like you were well looked after and given the family centred, optimum care we all strive for.

The fact you can look back with such positivity is wonderful and I know the staff will appreciate this message.

Thanks once again for this, and enjoy this special time
