"Excellent Physio Care"

About: Community Physiotherapy / MSK Physio Team General Practices in Grampian

(as a service user),

Attended a physiotherapist appt at my GP about acute shoulder pain, but the physio picked up on chronic rib pain I've had for almost 4 years, since I had Covid19.

I have long covid and my chronic rib pain has been very thoroughly assessed by my GP/ Cardiology/ Respiratory. I had just accepted taking painkillers was part of my life. He thoroughly assessed me, noticed my shallow non diaphramic breathing, pin pointed severe painful areas. Gave me breathing exercises & chest wall massage to do, but mostly gave me hope!

Felt really listened to and cared for. Shoulder pain also assessed & plan in place, reviewing my in 4 weeks. Highly satisfied.

Hello Person Centred Kat and thank you for getting in touch. The GP physio's don't often get feedback on Care Opinion - I think this is the first time - which will make it really special!

It can be exhausting fighting against pain and sometimes it seems easier just to accept it as a normal part of life, especially when it's been checked by many different services and there doesn't seem to be a solution. I'm so glad the physio you saw, saw the whole you during the assessment and has given you some hope for recovery - both with your shoulder and your rib.

I will pass this to Kincorth Medical Centre (if your practice has changed let me know) and I'll get back to you with any thank you's they share.

Take care,

Kirsten
