About: Dame Carol Detoxification Service Inclusion Isle of Wight

(as a service user),

I attended groups & they sorted out my detox. They arranged my aftercare in the community. It's now nearly two years since I've had a drink (645 days). 

I am now in paid employment after ten years. 

Family life is great & I have achieved things beyond my wildest dreams. 

Andy C is the person who did my initial assessments, was my key worker & I owe him my life!!

It’s wonderful to know that the support from our groups, your detox, and aftercare helped you take those crucial first steps, and we’re especially proud to hear that you’re now in paid employment after ten years. That’s a massive milestone, and it’s heartening to hear how your family life has flourished alongside your recovery.

Thank you again for taking the time to share your experience. Your story will be an inspiration to others on their own recovery journeys.
