"Welcoming, caring and efficient"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Medical Assessment Unit (Alexandra Ward) North Devon District Hospital / Radiology (X-ray)

(as the patient),

I attended SDEC with a suspected blood clot DVT in my left leg

The staff on the unit were very welcoming, caring, efficient and communicated well throughout my visit

I had an ultrasound in the Radiology department.

I would particularly like to thank the two radiologists who identified precisely that I had a blood clot in an artery in my leg and ruled out the suspected DVT. They were thorough, persistent and highly skilled and efficient as well as being most caring and compassionate .

Unfortunately, in the stress of the moment I failed to take their names .

But I would like to commend them both and thank them.

Without any delay, I have now been referred to the appropriate team for further investigation.

I am a Diagnostic Radiographer with many years experience of working, and imaging patients, in all areas of the Radiology department. I am also responsible for the governance in Radiology and so make sure that we are compliant with the many ionising radiation regulations that dictate what we can and can't do in radiology, keep the patients and staff safe and ensure we are practicing safely. I also deal with our policies and procedures and oversee compliments, complaints and quality.

Dear Geth,

Thank you for taking the time to leave positive feedback following your visit to both SDEC and Radiology.

I'm so pleased that the Sonographers were able to identify your blood clot so that you can receive the appropriate treatment; I hope that you will be feeling better very soon.

I will pass you kind comments onto the ultrasound team who will be very pleased to receive them.

Kind regards

Gill
