"Doctor on their phone"

About: Daisy Hill Hospital / Emergency Department Northern Ireland Ambulance Service / Emergency ambulance response

(as the patient),

Ambulance staff great- triage nurse and nurses great however one doctor i saw really needs to stop using their personal phone during examination.

I know encompass has phones but this is a personal phone. having chest pain while listening to my breathing with stethoscope on phone its pinging an they were writing and grinning, while asking you about symptoms. I'm sorry but this isn't good enough, how do I know when they dont write notes or use encompass to fill in notes how I am being correctly assessed.

Thank you for taking the time for share your experience. I would like to sincerely apologize for staff using personal phones during your assessment. This is unprofessional and has been addressed with the team to ensure it does not happen again.

I would also like to thank you for your kind words regarding the nursing team. They will truly appreciate your feedback.
