"GP appointment"

About: Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire

(as the patient),

Went to see my GP today and was disgusted with his comments. I went for help and he just kept asking me what I wanted to do about things. Well if I knew I wouldn't be asking for help. I felt so shamed and belittled he made me feel like a naughty school child not knowing the answer. I feel so low and after that appointment really not sure if there is any point in carrying on as there is in his opinion nothing medically wrong with me and he isn't there to give me a counselling session. I hope no one else is subjected to this shameful experience.

Hello,

I am sorry to hear that you've had this experience with your GP recently,

Here at Healthwatch we are keen to collect feedback on all health and social care services including GP surgeries, so that we can work with the services to make improvements. Perhaps you'd like to talk to us further about your experience? I am unsure where your GP surgery is located - if it is in Nottinghamshire you can call Healthwatch Nottinghamshire on 0115 963 5179, or if it is in Derbyshire you can contact Healthwatch Derbyshire on 01773 880786.

Thanks,

Charlotte
