About: Crosshouse Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

I accompanied my 84 year old sister to the Opthalmology department at Crosshouse today. She returned to Arran very satisfied with her trip and the treatment she received.

Her double vision had been difficult but a nurse (Laura/Lindsay?) adjusted her glasses and gave her a pair of reading glasses with the same technology. She texted me to say how her vision has improved. Another aspect of her eyes---glaucoma-- was attended to by a sympathetic doctor who revealed that Arran hospital holds clinics which she can attend in future.

With apologies for the length of time it has taken me to reply to you, I would like to thank you for taking the time and trouble to share your sister’s experience of the Eye Clinic within University Hospital Crosshouse with us.

It is reassuring to know that your sister found all of our staff to be reassuring, friendly and professional whilst she was under their care and that her vision improved with the reading glasses she was given. It’s also great to know that your sister can attend the glaucoma clinic on Arran in the future. This is a lovely example of the patient centred care that we strive to deliver.

Our staff really appreciate receiving feedback from their patients or their relatives and it will be my pleasure to share your kind comments with the wider Ophthalmology Team, which I know they will be delighted to receive.
