"I went here with a left tibia plateau fracture"

About: Westmorland General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I had to wait a week for the op, I guess they bring people in in batches to maximise efficiency. I wasn't show any x-rays before or after until I went to physio, there I was shown the surgeon's work and this is where it all made sense.

I was having pain and still am on the inside of the left leg a couple of inches below the joint, the op was on the outside of the leg so didn't make sense until I saw the x-rays and that's when I took photos. They said I wasn't allowed to and now I know why, one screw is sticking out the bone they screwed it through the bone, which given the surgeon's job we are trusting they are professionals and know what they are doing, I think we need access to these images.

After the operation saw a small cut which didn't make any sense to me but I think they knew the screw had gone through the bone and during the op I found myself asleep which makes me ask why did I wake up when I was fine watching the op?

I had a cut which was very small but done with a sharp tool as it was thin and straight and left no scar, must have been a scalpel. Getting the screw length correct first time by them would mean I  wouldn't have to worry about sharp pains for the rest of my life with no answer as to why it hurts, say by a screw sticking out the bone the opposite side of their surgery.

The physio told me I'm not allowed to take photos of the x-rays even though it's my body.
