After a long period of back pain and multiple visits to my GP I was finally given a referral to the Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy.   Suddenly everything happened quickly.  The referral was made on a Thursday and I got an initial call from the RCDS team the next day.  I was blown away with the speed. The first call resulted in a consultation and then quickly followed by blood tests and a CT Scan. That referral seemed to open up a fast track service. The scan was late on a Friday and on the following Monday I had the results and luckily I was cancer free.  Although my back pain is still with me at least I can rule out cancer.  I am now having various other tests. The staff at the RCDS are exceptional in terms of the professionalism of the service they deliver - huge thanks.
