"On every occasion the staff were professional and kind"

About: Royal Victoria Hospital / Burns and Plastic Surgery The Ulster Hospital / Emergency Department

(as the patient),

I was severely burnt with hydrochloric acid on my arms and legs..

I received in access of 70 plus burns in a work related incident. I attended accident and emergency in Dundonald before being referred to the royal Victoria hospital ward 2 E being the rapid access burns unit . I was treated there by sister sherley and her team . I then attended twice again over the coming weeks.

On every occasion the staff were very professional and kind . All the appointments ran on time . They managed to reduce my burn so much that I didn’t require skin grafts. I was very assured by their professional approach and it’s outcome.

Hi paprikakp44

I would also like to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback on your experience within the burns service.

It is good to hear that you found the service from the Rapid Access Clinic and Shirley to be professional and kind. The teams work together to manage burns well and its great that you hopefully will not require skin grafting. I will make sure the team are made aware of your feedback and really hope you continue to recover well.

Kind Regards
