"Declining mental health and weight loss"

About: Community Mental Health / Community Mental Health Team (Adult)

(as a service user),

I feel I need help. My mental health has declined dramatically. I can't get a Dr appointment. It's near impossible. I feel my food or lack of food is due to my addictions and mental health. When I do eat I eat healthy but not enough. The dietician who has seen me the past 6 weeks has commented I've lost 1 and a half stone. They have no idea how to help me.

Dear Just masel

I am sorry to read about the difficulty you have had with your mental health and addictions, and the impact that you feel this has had upon your diet.

I am also sorry that you have had difficulty gaining an appointment with your Dr, although would encourage you to persist with your efforts to get an appointment using the arrangements that your GP Practice has in place for booking appointments.

Unless you are already open to a Secondary Care Team (Community Mental Health Services or Addiction Services) it may also be worthwhile enquiring whether your GP practice has appointment available with a Mental Health Practitioner in order to gain an updated Mental Health Assessment if you have not already done so.

I hope that this is of some benefit, and I wish you the best with your recovery.

Kind Regards
