"It meant a lot to the family"

About: Antrim Area Hospital / Specialist Palliative Care Team Antrim Area Hospital / The Macmillan Unit

(as a relative),

I wanted to highlight the care given to my wife during her last days in Antrim Area Hospital.

She passed through AED, A1 and finally the MacMillan unit.

The care was compassionate, attentive and meant a lot to the family.  We found the nursing staff always available to keep us well informed and communication was always done in a professional and polite manner.

My name is Joanne Currie Service lead for Palliative care. Please accept our sincere condolences. Thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience of the care your wife received in Antrim Area Hospital in AED, A1 and the Macmillan unit.

I am heartened to hear that you and your family felt supported and cared for during such a difficult time and that the care was compassion and attentive. It is especially meaningful to know that the nurses were available to keep you informed, and that communication was professional and respectful.

your kind words will be shared with the teams involved as it will mean a great deal to them to know the difference their care and compassion made

many thanks

Joanne
