"Staff nurse had Ward 20 running like clockwork"

About: St John's Hospital / Ophthalmology

(as a relative),

My mother was in for cataract surgery today. I escorted her as my mother is deaf.

The staff nurse Priya that admitted her was absolutely fantastic, a credit to the nursing profession. She took time to explain things to her and ensured mum could read her lips.

She had that area running like clockwork. The compassion and empathy both Priya and Sarah showed the patients in their care, offering drinks/snacks.

Answering any questions the patients had. Gave us lots of post op advice and ensured mum understood, what to do.

Thank you so much, it’s appreciated.

Dear fionax

Thank you for taking the time to share your recent experience when your mother attended ward 20.

I am pleased to hear that the nursing staff provided professional compassionate care and took time to provide information to you and your mother.

I will ensure that this feedback is passed on to both Priya and Sarah.

I hope that your mother is recovering well.
