I recently had a TKR carried out at the NTC Victoria Hospital Kirkcaldy. Having previously had my first one done at the Royal Edinburgh 5 years ago.
I just wanted to express my thanks for first class care from all staff at the national treatment centre.
My experience from arriving for my pre- med went swiftly, what I liked was that all staff were located in the same area so there was no need to go to different areas to be seen. Even the phlebotomists came from the main hospital to carry out blood tests.
Having previously worked in the NHS for over 25 years, this was a positive experience. On the day of surgery again I was treated exceptionally well by all members of staff, whom were all friendly, caring and put me at ease. I liked that all exercises and medications were provided straight after arriving on the ward. Very efficient service.
The treatment centre is amazing, I liked the layout, it felt welcoming. I had no issues with parking, which was well located right outside the centre.
Finally, the surgical staff what can I say but you all are super amazing, I feel 2nd time around with this procedure, that it went better than the first time, my recovery was quicker, helped by the exercises provided by the physio and advice supplied by nursing staff.
Great communication, with follow up appointments delivered.
Thank you.
