My lovely mum who died in hospital peacefully in early August 2025, was admitted late July 2025 was met with the utmost care and professionalism by the ambulance team who attended her home around 9am. Her pain score was 10/10 in her back when the team arrived, and thanks to their expert care and compassion and knowledge her pain was 4/10 when she was brought downstairs and into the ambulance. This journey was made remarkable by the time and effort the crew put in to caring for my mum. The paramedics first name was Shona, she was accompanied by a male crew member and a female student paramedic. I am a Medical Professional, and seeing my mum, whom I knew was dying and in significant pain being cared for so well, moved my heart to tears. It was a huge burden lifted off my shoulderes, as I knew mum needed admission for palliative care, but could not imagine how we would get her safely to hopsital with the significant pain that she was in. Thank you so very much to all involved in her transfer to hopsital, the whole team were amazing, and visited mum twice on AU1. This is a testament to the professionlism, compassion and knowldege of the Scottish Ambulance Service. My mum kissed Shona's hand when she visited and thanked her personally. We as a family are indebted and won't forget such care.
