"Just what I needed to help me recover"

About: Cloughreagh House

(as a staff member posting for a patient/service user),

This was my second admission to Cloughreagh House and I came without any hesitation as I knew I would make good progress here. The care was excellent, the staff are so friendly and  sociable  and kind.  The food was delicious and plenty of it and catering for all of our different tastes.

I have definitely made progress and I will continue with the exercise programme at home, I am delighted with the planned home visits and it is a relief to know that the support is there when you do discharge home.

My bedroom was very comfortable and bright with a lovely view of the garden. My visitors all commented on it., it definitely helps you get better staying in such a nice environment.    The bedroom was small though but when I had a lot of visitors I used the downstairs sitting room and it was very comfortable.

My only negative of the whole experience was there is only one toilet for downstairs and that is not enough for the amount of people on the corridor.  However I have to say that the toilets were kept spotless, the cleaning team were excellent, very thorough in their work and seemed to take pride in having the place nice.

Overall Cloughreagh House was just what I needed to help me recover.

Thank you for taking the time to post your story on care Opinion. I am pleased that you have had such a positive experience here and had no hesitation to return.

The staff in Cloughreagh House are very well trained and work together to bring each of our service users an experience which is person - centred and unique to them. Everyone has their own individual bedroom and we feel this is conducive to the recovery process as many of our service users refer to the peaceful atmosphere in the Home.

Thank you for bringing up the issue of the toilets, we have brought this to the attention of our Head of Service and hopefully we will get some improvements in this area in the future.

I would like to thank you again for contributing your story. All feedback is appreciated and we use this to build on our service and to make improvements were possible. I wish you continued good health on your onward journey to recovery.

Regards

Stephanie Campbell
