"Mental health OT support"

About: Adult Health & Support Services / Occupational Therapy

(as a service user),

I was referred community OT team at Lanark for support during a period of absence from work due to depression/anxiety. I was supported by a lovely OT Siobhan. She helped me in so many ways by firstly listening to how I was feeling and giving me coping strategies as well as some great ideas to help improve my wellbeing. She also gave me a social prescription for Lanark Lifestyles leisure pool and gym which I have used for going swimming. Siobhan was such a genuine person who treated me with empathy and kindness. I feel much better now and have returned to work. I can’t thank the team enough for all the support and help given during a very difficult period of my life

Dear Shazzabee thank you so much for taking time to let us know of the positive experience you had with Siobhan one of our Occupational Therapy colleagues. It is really heartening to see how the approach of active listening then really personalised advice on strategies for you has been of benefit - this feedback helps us as individuals and services to deliver the best possible care. We do wish you well on your onward journey thanks once again. Lesley
