"No fluids or food offered"

About: Victoria Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a relative),

Called NHS 24 and an Ambulance was sent. Outside for 2 hours thats understandable. At hospital more than 6 hours have yet to be seen by a doctor no fluids given. She has been confused and not fully understanding of questions. Doesn't know the date month. Only correct question so far has been the year. Doesn't know husband or children's birthdays. Knows she is in hospital, but other than that no conversation at all very little understanding.

Have been seen by a nurse twice in 8 hours..

Hello sagittariuspt74,

I am very sorry to hear that your relative and yourself have had a negative experience and long delay while attending and waiting in the Emergency Department for assessment and treatment.

If you would like to get in touch with myself I would be happy to investigate this matter further.

Kind regards

Lauren Harris (Senior Charge Nurse)

We completely understand it was extremely busy for those working. We just think thats could have been better communication from some staff. Thanks for responding
