"The length of time between visits is far too long"

About: Community Health Services / Podiatry

(as the patient),

The length of time between visits is some times 6 months and is far too long.

There needs to be far more Chiropodists to give a reasonable interval between visits to the clinic. I am nearly 92 and completely unable to cut my own nails.

Dear Joe Soap,

Thank you for taking the time to leave a comment regarding your experience with the Podiatry Service. It is really important to us that our patients tell us about their experiences.

You have highlighted the important issue that the waiting times between your appointments is sometimes unacceptable and I am sorry for the extended waiting times you have experienced. We are aware that due to the high demand for the service the length of time between your visits does increase to an unacceptable length of time and we are currently addressing this issue.

We do work with the commissioners of the service to appraise them of our waiting times and as a result we currently have some additional podiatrists on a temporary basis, which is bringing the waiting times down. We will also be discussing the plan for the longer term delivery of podiatry care with them, based on our staffing and the high levels of demand for the service.

If you would like more specific information related to your appointments please do not hesitate to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service on 0800 073 0578 to discuss in further detail.

Kind regards,
