"My recovery journey"

About: Community Occupational Therapy / Community Occupational Therapy- Coleraine North District Nursing / District Nursing - Coleraine North

(as a service user),

Out of hospital. Hospital bed waiting for me. Carers in 4 times daily to change and wash me. The district nurse in often and she was cheery, positive and kind. I gradually got better and able to move about. Physio and O.T. called and slowly I learnt to walk again with a Zimmer, provided with a Loo raise seat so the Camode removed. Physio encouraged me to do stairs and I managed to return to my upstairs bedroom and discontinue carers. O.T. brought a stick so Zimmer was not needed. Extra stair rail fitted. Everybody was very kind, helpful and caring.

An easier return of equipment would be a good idea.
