Thank You to the Staff at Antrim Hospital

I would like to sincerely thank the incredible team at Antrim Hospital who supported me through my labour and postnatal care. From start to finish, every member of staff I encountered showed such kindness, compassion, and professionalism, and I am truly grateful.

A special thank you to Hayley in EOU, who was so reassuring and kind at the very beginning, helping me feel at ease in what was a very overwhelming time.

On the delivery ward, I was looked after by Laura Watt and Aine, whose professionalism and gentle encouragement made such a difference. Their calm and supportive approach gave me so much confidence. Alongside them, Jodie, the student midwife, showed such care and dedication — she will make a wonderful midwife.

I am also very grateful to Kim (doctor), who was both professional and reassuring. She got baby here safe and explained all throughout.   Dearbhla, the healthcare assistant I think? whose warmth and kindness were so appreciated. She cleaned me and dressed me when unable to do so. 

 Julie, sister in delivery, was such a steady presence and provided reassurance and support throughout.

On the ward, Lesley (sister) and Caitlin (student) were fantastic, and the two lovely healthcare assistants who cared for me showed such genuine compassion — small acts of kindness that meant so much in those early days. These girls working on Sunday are worth their weight in gold, asking did I need anything multiple times and the kind gesture of giving my own room when I was disappointed about not getting home was such a kind touch. 

Finally, a special mention to the two Louises — Louise (Lou Lou), bank midwife, and Louise, midwife — who were both incredibly supportive, compassionate, and encouraging. Lou Lou could not have done enough to chase up on my meds and check where docs where and Louise was amazing at explaining all and showing such empathy and checking in on me. 

I feel so lucky to have been cared for by such a dedicated team. Thank you all for helping me through such an important and emotional experience with such kindness and professionalism. I will never forget the care I received.
