"Gallbladder surgery"

About: University Hospital Wishaw / Day Surgery

(as the patient),

Over the past few years I have suffered from gallstones which I managed through diet and in the process lost 2st. Everything came to a head in March 2024 when my gallbladder was inflamed and I spent 5 days in hospital to reduce the inflammation and referred to the Upper GI Gallbladder Clinic.

I recently had my Gallbladder removed. Also just to say a big thanks to the surgical and all the other staff who looked after me during my stay in hospital. I was given the all clear to head home, many thanks everyone.

Just one thing to add, for my pre-assessment I was asked to down load the NHS L Elsie app, to be honest I was a bit hesitant about this, but now I have been through all my surgery etc this app was a brilliant addition to the NHS it kept me informed and as if I had a personal touch with the team.

Dear Tom A,

Thank you for sharing your experience of University Hospital Wishaw, Day Surgery.

It can be a worrying time attending hospital for a procedure and I am so glad to hear that the excellent level of care helped you to feel reassured and at ease. I am glad you also found the Elsie app to be helpful and allowed a personal touch to your treatment.

I will ensure your kind words are passed on to the whole team who I am sure will get a real boost in hearing your feedback.

I hope you are recovering well.

Best Wishes,

Jenni
