Requested referral for early treatment of dupreytrens because I was aware of early treatment at Derbyshire NHS and the idea that I didn’t have to be operated on when the condition was severe was important to me.
My hands are very important to me because I am a painter/fine art botanical illustrator. At present, I have a number of other diseases/conditions impacting upon my quality of life.
The idea of losing functionality of my hands, knowing that things could be done in early stages to offset the condition prompted me to pursue the referral.
GP agreed and referred me within a relatively short time I have been seen by consultant and referred to specialist in Derbyshire.
