"Traumatised and had pain for months after"

About: Ipswich Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a service user),

I was rushed to a&e because of abdomen pain and sent to Peggy Cole as my iud coil had become dislodged. I was given an internal ultrasound and a biopsy was taken then the coil was removed. When the replacement coil was put in, the doctor's pager went off, they were putting the coil in, then a nurse ran in and told them they were needed now. The Dr literally rammed it in pulled the spectrum out in one move and ran out of the room. I was absolutely traumatised and had pain for months until it was removed forever.

Thank you for taking the time to tell us of your experience at Ipswich Hospital and I am sorry that on this occasion it was not as expected and for any unnecessary stress and discomfort that this may have caused. I will make sure that your comments are passed onto the senior team for their attention.
