"I feel much more positive and confident within myself"

About: Great Oaks Inpatient Unit / Mulberry Ward

(as the patient),

I recently had a BPD episode. I felt unsafe within myself I had a lot of suicidal thoughts and I felt alone. My sleep was also impacted due to my low self esteem then I got sectioned under the mental health act due to my risk towards myself. I then got moved into Great Oaks and I started my treatment. They altered my meds to best suit me therefore within a few weeks I started to feel much better, just like myself again. However I did suffer with anxiety still due to the noise within the ward and waiting for my supported living to be sorted. I am about to be discharged, and I feel much more positive and confident within myself to achieve life goals.

Thank you so much for feeding back your experience its important to hear how we are doing. Its difficult being admitted to hospital and we recognise that especially when you are unwell. We are glad you are recovering anmd the admission has helped you and we wish you well for the future.
