"Gave me a glimmer of comfort, understanding and direction"

About: Inclusion Thurrock (Talking Therapies)

(as the patient),

I am a long term sufferer of poor mental health myself, due to experiencing many deeply traumatic situations and scenarios from my childhood up until now, and growing up in negative / unfriendly environments. I have for the past five years been actively working through it and coping after being suicidal in 2020 & 2021 and ready to act on it, with help through therapy, counselling, medication, routines, self-improvement and improving my communication to my support network and the people around me such as work and my mum (I don't have any friends).

However, my mum's recent cancer diagnosis, and the severity of it, the months of trying to be there to support, care for and be present with my mum, as well as watching her mental and physical health deteriorate rapidly, has really taken me back to a dark place I was at many years ago, where I could no longer cope alone.

That's when I decided to reach back out to Inclusion and get the support and advice I need to help me through this difficult time, to continue pushing on to the better times that are ahead.

I done my assessment with CJ and I couldn't have asked for a better person, after a lengthy conversation, and being able to just talk freely (which I tend to really struggle with, especially with anyone I don't know). The assessment itself just made the difference, It gave me a glimmer of direction, comfort and understanding that I desperately needed to navigate through these difficult times. To the point I am writing this and sharing (which I don't like to do), just to say thank you, and to also help others gain the confidence to do the same!
