"Fobbed off - yet again"

About: NHS 24 / NHS 24 (111 service) Raigmore Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I’ve struggled with Gastro symptoms most of my life & recently i’ve been unable to eat or drink which has caused weight loss, dehydration, not passing urine for 24hrs+ & diarrhoea which contains blood (both red fresh & black).

Recently attended A&E at Raigmore on advice of NHS24. I was questioned multiple times about my fluid intake, Dr didn’t seem to believe that i hadn’t been drinking & when i told him I hadn’t eaten for over 3 weeks, again they didn’t seem to believe me. When they left the cubicle I heard them chatting with a colleague, commenting and laughing about my size.

Also attended a different A&E in another health board to try get some help but they couldn’t do it either. The doctor i seen also didn't seem happy at the reasonings for me attending, stating it was a GP who should be dealing with me (like i’m not a person). Unfortunately as stated, NHS24 advised me to attend.

Feeling like nobody is listening to my health concerns, how much my symptoms are affecting my life - stopping me from working and doing normal day to day life things, is significantly impacting my mental health to the point i’ve considered ending my life.
