"Grateful for the kindness and professionalism"

About: Causeway Hospital / Accident & Emergency

(as a service user),

I attended ED recently with my mother in law who had been unwell for a few days prior. We were in waiting room for approx 10 mins and then called to triage.

I went into triage with my mother in-law as she is hard of hearing, and explained to the triage nurse what had taken us to ED that morning. The triage nurse was extremely friendly, polite and professional. She took the details effectively and efficiently and recognized straight away that my mother in law needed urgent treatment.

Within a short period of time, the triage nurse had us taken into the main ED department, a cannula was put in, bloods taken and fluids commenced. The doctor was made aware that my mother in law was in the department and what the concerns were.

We really appreciate how quickly we were seen and treatment commenced and also the level of kindness and professionalism shown by the triage nurse and the other nurses in the dept that day.

Thank you to the entire ED team for your care and dedication, especially during what are incredibly busy and stressful shifts.
