"Made me feel relaxed and at ease"

About: Royal Alexandra Hospital / Gynaecology (Ward 32) Royal Alexandra Hospital / Outpatients

(as a service user),

I had a hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy and IUD removed and new one fitted. The procedure was done at the outpatients day surgery at the

Royal Alexander Hospital in Paisley performed by Dr Zwizwai early August 2025.

I can’t praise the staff enough. Beginning with the friendly receptionist who took my partners name so he could collect me after surgery. I was asked to sit in the waiting room with other ladies who were having the same procedure done, which was good to chat to them.

A few of us were then collected by a nurse, who was friendly and polite and took us to a day ward where I met with the lovely nurses Eryn and Inisha.

They helped getting me get into gown, took notes of everything, medication, health,  back ground, double checked, and explained everything what was happening and answered all my questions. They made me feel at ease.

Dr Zwizwai then presented himself to me who also repeated every detail again and reassured me that he would look after me.

I then met the theatre staff and Dave the anaesthetist, who were so nice and all had a great sense of humour.

I was whisked down to theatre first and again felt to relaxed and unfazed by what was happening.

I came round pretty quickly in the recovery room where I felt so refreshed, and the recovery team were on hand straight away asking if I was ok.

The theatre staff and Dr zwizwai came down to the recovery ward and told me the procedure was successful and did I have any questions.

I was taken back to the day ward where Eryn and Inisha greeted me again. They changed my bedding, took my blood pressure 3 times before I was considered to go home, they made me a cup of tea with pancakes. I was also chatting with other staff and the male student who also made me a cup of tea and kept asking me if I needed anything. The nurse then phoned my partner to come and collect me.

When it was time to go every one of the staff on the way out said goodbye and had a laugh when I was leaving. I was accompanied by Inisha to the waiting room to get my partner, and then reception staff also said goodbye.

I just wanted to give a big thanks to all the Royal Alexander Hospital Paisley team who were involved in my care. You made me feel relaxed and at ease from the first consultation to the pre op assessment staff and to the day surgery staff. You are all amazing.

Dear TrackieA74,

Thank you so much for taking the time to share such detailed and thoughtful feedback about your recent experience at the Royal Alexandra Hospital. I am delighted to hear that your hysteroscopy, endometrial biopsy, and IUD procedure went smoothly and that you felt so well cared for throughout.

It is wonderful to know that from your very first welcome at reception, through to the day surgery ward, theatre, recovery and discharge, you felt supported, reassured, and treated with kindness. We are very proud of our team, and your comments about Eryn, Inisha, Dr Zwizwai, Dave our anaesthetist, the theatre staff, recovery team, student nurse, and our reception colleagues will mean so much to them. I will make sure your feedback is shared with everyone involved in your care.

Your description of being listened to, having everything clearly explained, and being looked after with warmth and humour is exactly the standard of care we strive to provide. I’m so pleased that you felt relaxed, safe, and at ease during what can understandably be an anxious time for many patients.

On behalf of the whole gynaecology team, thank you again for your kind words. I will share this with my theatre and anaesthetic colleagues also.

We wish you the very best in your recovery and ongoing health.

Warm regards,

Nikki
