"Fantastic caring staff for daughter's blood test"

About: Crosshouse Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

My daughter is 2 years, and has ASN. We were booked in for bloods to get taken, the process was really quick to get seen. The staff were incredibly sweet with my daughter. It was really stressful trying to get the bloods but the ladies were constantly trying to engage and soothe my daughter as much as they could.

As parents the situation was horrible, but that can't be helped as little kids don't understand why they are in pain from the needle, and why they have to be held. After getting the bloods the ladies showed us a little table of toys and other educational items for our daughter to choose from, as a present for doing so well. My little one picked a book.

I just want to say that the ladies done everything possible to make what was a scary situation for her as positive as possible. You really have fantastic caring staff.

The present initiative they have for the kids is wonderful and should be fully supported. Truly a wonderful idea!

Dear blueds46

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us when visiting our paediatric service. I am delighted to hear that the incentives used had a positive impact on your daughters experience and enabled her care delivery.

I hope she is doing ok and looks forward to any future visits to us. I will share your lovely message with the team who will be pleased to hear from you.

I wish you all the best of ongoing health for the rest of 2025

Kind regards

Attica Wheeler
