I was diagnosed with breast cancer in June of this year at 35 years old.
I've just had my mastectomy and am currently waiting on my post-op results to see if I need any other immediate treatment but regardless of if I do or not, I wanted to share how absolutely fantastic I've found the service from the breast care team up to this point.
I've seen a few different people on my journey so far but I'd really like to take this opportunity to highlight how amazing I found Mr Ahmad. He has been so good to me from the first day I met him, very honest and to the point but in a very compassionate and delicate way.
My diagnosis came as a huge shock to me but the breast team move fast, and they're very, very thorough. The waiting is scary, that's what I've found to be the hardest part of all of this. But having such a good team behind you makes you feel very positive.
So I'd really like to express how kind I've found everyone, how caring and friendly they all are. You don't appreciate how much you'll remember these interactions as all these appointments will stay with me in my mind forever.
So a huge thank you to Mr Ahmad for starting my life saving process, and to the breast team over all for doing what they do all day, every day as I can't imagine that is an easy job to do day in, day out. I'm forever grateful to you all.
"Having such a good team behind you really helps"
