"Birth of my 3rd baby"

About: Maternity care / Maternity care (Ward 31)

(as the patient),

The experience I had giving birth at the RAH in paisley was absolutely night and day from my previous births. I was so well taken care of by absolutely every member of staff. The girls on the labour ward took such amazing care of me both before and after my c section when my baby was around in SCBU and I felt so supported by them all no matter how difficult I was finding it.

The staff in SCBU were all absolutely amazing keeping us in the loop about our son's care and explaining everything without ever making us feel like we were asking too many questions. I think our little man made a good few friends in the staff and was a wee familiar face by our 5th day.

The staff looking after me on ward 31A were absolutely outstanding! In the past I felt like a burden at a different hospital but here I felt so comfortable and well taken care of by every member of staff and over our 5 days in hospital I started to feel like part of the team and joked a few times about getting a job if I hung about long enough.

I honestly couldn't have asked for a better experience and it really was night and day from my previous births. All I wanted this time around was to have a healing experience after a traumatic birth with my second baby and I definitely got that and more. I've come away with new friends and to be honest some people who I'll never forget and who I will be forever grateful to.
